SUMMARY:Adding Storage - Technology\, Economic and Regulatory Issues in Hybridization
DESCRIPTION:Original Webinar Date/Time: \nWednesday\, June 11\, 2020\n2:00 – 3:00 PM ET / 11:00 AM PT – 12:00 PM PT \n \nThe past several years have witnessed a significant increase in the announced construction of hybrid energy resources\, such as PV solar or wind generation paired with battery energy storage.   This is especially prevalent in the case of recently proposed large PV plants\, which increasingly are coupled with storage capability.  While the proposals for new large hybrid facilities naturally receive the most attention\, falling prices for storage have opened up immediate opportunities to add storage to existing (or proposed\, but not yet constructed) generating facilities.  While such hybridization projects can add immediate value to existing generation\, they also face some unique technical\, economic and regulatory challenges that may not be present in planning greenfield hybrid projects. \n  \nThis webinar will examine the issues involved in adding storage to existing or proposed generation plants\, with a focus on RTO/ISO organized markets where evolving rules will affect a hybridization project’s feasibility and value. \nSpeakers: \n\nRob Gramlich\, Founder and President\, Grid Strategies LLC\nRhonda Peters\, Principal\, InterTran Energy Consulting\nJason Burwen\, Vice President\, Policy\, U.S. Energy Storage Association
