SUMMARY:Transforming the Grid: Planning and Implementing Energy Storage
DESCRIPTION:Deploying energy storage results in a more resilient\, efficient\, sustainable\, and affordable electricity grid. But planning and implementing storage requires specialized knowledge and analysis tools. With this seminar; utilities\, regulators\, and other stakeholders will learn about the energy storage modeling and planning techniques being used around the country to deliver cost effective storage in a variety of applications on the rapidly evolving grid. \nThe U.S. Energy Storage Association (ESA) and seminar sponsor Roland Berger are hosting an in-depth virtual seminar on energy storage planning on June 16-17\, 2021\, Transforming the Grid:  Planning and Implementing Energy Storage. Registration has now closed. \nThis seminar consists of four 2.5-hour modules presented over two days\, beginning at 12:00 noon ET\, running to 5:30 PM ET (the program includes a 30-minute break between modules).  Each module is split into three shorter sessions\, with each session featuring a different presenter. Register for one\, two\, three\, or all four modules – the choice is yours.

SUMMARY:The Critical Role of Energy Storage Part III - Behind the Meter Storage: Value and Challenge (sponsored by NECA)
DESCRIPTION:The Northeast Energy and Commerce Association (NECA) presents the final part of its three-part series\, The Critical Role of Energy Storage in Decarbonization. \nPart III: Behind the Meter Storage: Value and Challenge will be held virtually on Wednesday\, June 16 from 1:00 to 2:30 pm ET  \nAll of the state clean energy roadmaps that have been coming out in this past year in New England assume large amounts of energy storage as an essential part of the path to decarbonization.  This series will examine the major use cases\, the current state of the industry\, and the remaining hurdles to the integration of this game-changing new asset class. \nA lot of New England states are promoting storage incentive programs – most of what is currently being built are behind the meter.  What’s their value to owners\, to towns\, to the grid\, to the planet?  Where do they fit into decarbonization efforts?  How does their use differ from utility-scale storage?  What are the barriers – economic\, technical\, and policy – to development? \nHear from the leading experts on this issue in their final part of the three-part series.
