While many of these issues lie outside the customary scope of corporate action\, there is a growing recognition that companies can encourage progress through both individual and collective action. Responsible supply chain policies – such as restrictions on certain activities or relationships that constrain both a company and its suppliers – have the potential to influence upstream market outcomes to enhance the sustainability of the entire industry. \nSince 2019\, the Energy Storage Association has managed the Corporate Responsibility Initiative (CRI) to assist the industry that helps the energy storage industry to craft responsible policies in safety\, recycling and supply chain.
