SUMMARY:American Clean Power Week
DESCRIPTION:Join ACP October 25-29\, 2021 as we celebrate the first-ever American Clean Power Week (ACPW)\, an entire week dedicated to celebrating the ways clean energy is building a better future for the U.S. \nACPW is an evolution of the former American Wind Week\, intended to recognize the full spectrum of clean energy technologies. With clean energy technologies’ 50-state footprint\, this year’s theme is the United States of Clean Energy. We’ll highlight how land-based and offshore wind power\, solar power\, energy storage\, and transmission infrastructure deliver increasingly affordable\, reliable\, clean energy to millions of American families and businesses. \n2021 is an exciting year for clean energy\, new 21st-century job creation\, and the fight against climate change. Earlier this year\, the Biden administration proposed the American Jobs Plan\, a roadmap for putting Americans back to work building our country’s critical infrastructure that will support the energy transition. From red states to blue states\, there are opportunities for all Americans in the new clean energy economy.

SUMMARY:Staying Power: The Role of Energy Storage in Grid Resilience
DESCRIPTION:Original Webinar Date/Time: \nWednesday\, October 27\, 2021\n2:00 – 3:00 PM ET / 11:00 AM PT – 12:00 PM PT \n \nEnergy storage can increase resilience across the electric grid on bulk power and distribution systems\, before\, during\, and after a high-impact grid disruption. Energy storage can prevent grid disruptions before they occur\, can provide back-up power to keep critical electricity infrastructure running during a grid disruption\, and can provide crucial capabilities after a grid disruption. Energy storage can be deployed alone or in combination with other energy sources\, like intermittent renewable energy. \nThis webinar will examine the emerging role of energy storage for resilience\, focusing on back-up power during an outage or disturbance. Energy storage can help provide resilient back-up power at different scales such as a building\, a campus consisting of multiple facilities or at bulk power grid levels\, although the role of storage in providing resilience will vary in different circumstances. \nSpeakers:  \n\nJulian Boggs\, U.S. Energy Storage Association\nTed Ko\, Consultant\nJonathon Monken\, Converge Strategies\nHannah Porter\, Portland Gas & Electric\n\n*The Post-Webinar discussion sponsored by Black & Veatch\, mentioned in the archive\, was not recorded.
