DESCRIPTION:Energy storage systems introduce increased flexibility into the electric grid and end use of energy. In the second of ESA’s StoragePLUS Network webinars\, we heard from General Electric’s Kurt Waldner regarding innovative coupling of energy storage and natural gas system. Our speaker addressed how energy storage can complement gas generation and use in innovative thermal hybrid systems to extend the life of existing assets\, mitigate emissions\, reduce fuel usage\, and provide additional grid services beyond a typical gas generator.
