SUMMARY:NECA: The Critical Role of Energy Storage in Decarbonization
DESCRIPTION:The Critical Role of Energy Storage in Decarbonization\nHear from the leading experts on this important issue in this three-part series \nAll of the state clean energy roadmaps that have been coming out in this past year in New England assume large amounts of energy storage as an essential part of the path to decarbonization.  This series will examine the major use cases\, current state of the industry\, and the remaining hurdles to integration of this game-changing new asset class. \nPart II in the NECA Series: “Hybrid Learning”: The promise of hybrid power resources to accelerate decarbonization – May 5 from 1:00 to 2:30 pm ET\n \nInterconnection queues don’t lie. The number of renewable energy projects paired with storage seeking interconnection across the country demonstrates a significant shift in the resources that will decarbonize the grid. Adding storage to the grid\, to renewables and even sometimes to conventional plants offers the increased flexibility needed for a reliable low-carbon grid. However\, in these early days of hybrids\, the function\, value and costs of hybrid facilities will provide valuable lessons for the future. This panel will discuss the factors driving hybrid development including near-term state and federal efforts\, including the recent FERC Technical Conference\, as well as the long-term reliability needs of the grid. \nCOST PER EVENT: \nNECA Member – $50 | Non-Member – $65 | Government – $40 | Young Professional – $40 | Student – FREE
