SUMMARY:Corporate Operations & Resilience
DESCRIPTION:Many companies are investing in on-site distributed energy resources to harness renewable energy and reduce the impact of their operations. For companies with critical loads\, these broad sustainability efforts often fail to account for how to keep the lights on during a power outage. While these grid-connected assets can minimize energy costs under normal conditions\, they become inoperable during a power failure – risking major losses for bottom lines.\n\nLisa Laughner\, CEO and founder of Go Electric\, Inc.\, discusses the business case for corporate energy resiliency investment based on lessons learned from deploying storage-backed microgrids across the United States. By packing the benefits of energy resiliency and security with lowering energy costs under a single umbrella\, corporate actors can effectively design their sustainability investments with zero operational downtime. Lisa will also draw from her experience working with the Wells Fargo Innovation Incubator (IN2)\, a technology incubator and platform funded by the Wells Fargo Foundation and co-administered by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) that speeds the path to market for early-stage clean energy technologies. She will be joined by Ramsay Huntley\, Vice President of Clean Technology and Innovation Philanthropy Program Officer of Wells Fargo to lend his insights. To conclude the session\, Lisa will identify the following takeaways to the audience:\n\n\nThe role of microgrid technology in preventing sustained economic loss\nMonetizing energy storage assets for long-term payoffs\nKey differences between energy efficiency and energy resiliency capabilities\nExternal benefits for community resiliency and sustainability\n\n\nSpeakers:\n\n\nLisa Laughner\, CEO\, Go Electric Inc.\nRamsay Huntley\, VP of Clean Technology and Innovation Philanthropy Program Officer\, Wells Fargo
