ESA Asks FERC to Consider Benefits-Based Transmission Incentives, Remove Barriers to Storage-as-Transmission
In response to FERC’s Notice of Inquiry regarding its transmission incentives policy, ESA today filed brief comments broadly supportive of a mechanism to reward investments like energy storage that can improve the flexibility and other capabilities of transmission infrastructure. Additionally, ESA identified other barriers to utilizing storage as a transmission asset (SATA) beyond FERC’s transmission incentives policy and requested FERC to open a separate docket on the issue.
