Electricity Storage Network (ESN)

Grid connected electricity storage is a vital part of the power network. Contrary to popular physics teaching, electricity can be stored – although the purists will argue that this is only in capacitors and in superconducting magnetic devices- we are including those processes where electricity is converted into potential energy and then converted back to electrical energy at a later stage.

India Energy Storage Alliance (IESA)

The India Energy Storage Alliance (IESA) was launched in 2012 to assess the market potential of Energy Storage Technologies in India, through an active dialogue and subsequent analysis among the various stakeholders to make the Indian industry and power sector aware of the tremendous need for Energy Storage in the very near future. Several drivers like increasing share of renewables, supply-demand mismatch as well as transmission constraints, all add up to the Energy Storage roadmap.

Department of Energy: Sandia National Laboratories

The U.S. DOE Energy Storage Systems Research Program (ESS), managed by Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque NM (Sandia), has evolved over three decades of successful battery and power sources research, engineering, and testing, especially as storage technologies relate to electric utilities, renewables, and grid security. Today, ESS Project Reports have become the defining documents for the benefits of energy storage and are cited regularly by storage experts around the world. Working in close partnerships with industry, academia, and governments, the ESS Program continues to lead in world-wide efforts that address energy issues through energy storage.
