ESA Asks NJ Regulators to Consider Storage Capacity Accreditation Changes in PJM in Current Proceedings

ESA submitted comments to the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities in its ongoing Investigation of Resource Adequacy Alternatives, Docket No. EO20030203. The comments note that energy storage is an important technology to achieve resource adequacy goals, update the Board on recent developments concerning the capacity accreditation of storage at PJM, and encourage the Board to initiate a proceeding to advance energy storage in New Jersey. The comments note that the New Jersey Clean Energy Act directs the Board to initiate such a proceeding six months after the publication of a report analyzing the costs and benefits of energy storage, and that such a report was published in May of 2019.
