Webinar – Responsible Supply Chain Policy in the Energy Storage Industry

Original Event Date/Time:

Wednesday, September 29, 2021
1:00 PM ET – 2:00 PM ET

The rapid growth in the battery energy storage industry – both in electric vehicle transportation in stationary storage on the electricity grid – raises concerns regarding the sustainability of international supply chains, including the issues relating to environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues. While many of these issues lie outside the customary scope of corporate action, there is a growing recognition that companies can encourage progress through both individual and collective action. Responsible supply chain policies – such as restrictions on certain activities or relationships that constrain both a company and its suppliers – have the potential to influence upstream market outcomes to enhance the sustainability of the entire industry.

Since 2019, the Energy Storage Association has managed the Corporate Responsibility Initiative (CRI) to assist the industry that helps the energy storage industry to craft responsible policies in safety, recycling and supply chain. This webinar will explore the challenges confronted and the progress made in developing responsible corporate polices in supply chain management.
