ESA Joins NECEC, SEIA, and CCSA in Recommending Update to Storage Cycling Requirements for SMART Program
ESA joined Northeast Clean Energy Council, Solar Energy Industries Alliance, and the Coalition for Community Solar Access in submitting a request to the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources to update energy storage guidelines for its Solar Massachusetts Renewable Target program. The SMART program currently requires that energy storage systems cycle 52 times each year, pro rated in year one. The update would waive the cycling requirements in the first year for projects that come online in the latter half of the year, to account for seasonal variations in use.
