ESA Statement on COP26 Meetings
“The U.S. Energy Storage Association (ESA) is proud to represent our members at the COP26 meetings in Glasgow. Energy storage technologies are a critical solution—available at scale, today—for decarbonizing power systems rapidly, extending clean energy access globally, and making communities more resilient to climate-driven extreme weather. The world must move beyond carbon-emitting sources of electricity, and we urge all countries to include acceleration of energy storage deployment as a part of their plans to meet their national determined contributions (NDCs). The U.S. is the global leader in deploying energy storage, and ESA is eager to share our successes in using energy storage and renewable energy to enable near-term retirement of fossil fuel generation.” – Jason Burwen, CEO, ESA
