CEO Kelly Speakes-Backman’s Statement on Maryland’s HB 980
“ESA congratulates the Maryland State Legislature on its passage of House Bill 980,” said Kelly Speakes-Backman, CEO of ESA. “HB 980 will improve upon a first-in-the-nation state tax credit program for businesses and households installing energy storage systems for resilience and bill savings. Once enacted, the legislation will open tax incentives to leasing business models, supporting an in-state energy storage industry that can put Marylanders to work. We thank Delegates Reznik, Fraser-Hidalgo, and Korman and Senator Guzzone for their leadership and look forward to supporting implementation of the program modifications.”
