ESA Asks FERC for Greater Clarity on Accredited Capacity in SPP Revised Tariff on Resource Adequacy Qualification

In response to the filing by Southwest Power Pool (SPP) in Docket No. ER20-572 formalizing its 4-hour qualification standard for storage in resource adequacy, ESA will file comments today at FERC asking for greater clarity. Specifically, ESA asks that SPP include a definition of the term “accredited capacity” in its filing to ensure that qualification standards remain fully defined in tariff language, per FERC’s direction in its ruling on SPP’s Order 841 compliance plan.
