ESA Calls For Inclusion of Storage in New Jersey’s Energy Efficiency and Peak Demand Straw Proposal
ESA will file comments today with the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (BPU) in response to the draft Energy Efficiency and Peak Demand Programs Straw Proposal issued on December 20, 2019. ESA calls for the BPU to include energy storage as an eligible resource and provide greater guidance to the utilities on design of the Peak Demand Reduction and Non-Wires Alternatives (NWA) programs. ESA recommends that a Daily/Targeted Dispatch and Bring-Your-Own-Device program be included in the peak demand reduction programs, and suggests that the BPU borrow from New York and Maryland for the NWA pilot design.
