ESA Testimony to House Appropriations Committee

ESA submitted testimony to the House Appropriations Committee requesting substantial and coordinated public investments in energy storage R&D in its FY 2020 Energy & Water Development spending bill. ESA calls for a coordinated, cross-cutting program focused on storage RD&D across Department of Energy offices and requests $200 million for those activities, which would support both battery and non-battery technologies. Additionally, ESA requests allocations of DOE funds to develop methods for valuing resilience in the electric system; to support training to fire and code professionals on storage; and to provide technical assistance on DER interconnection processes.
