Webinar: Energy Storage: An Essential Environmental Technology
Original Webinar Date/Time:
Wednesday, April 14, 2021
1:00 – 2:00 PM ET / 10:00 AM PT – 11:00 AM PT
Energy storage is critical to decarbonizing the electric system and reducing other environmental impacts from power generation. Storage is increasingly being used to replace existing or planned fossil power plants in urban areas, improving air quality and promoting equity. More broadly, energy storage deployed on the electric grid – whether as integrated components of wind and solar power facilities or as stand-alone projects – is providing system capacity and flexible generation to maintain reliability as the growing contributions of renewables reduce overall emissions from generation.
This webinar examines the critical and growing role that energy storage plays in accelerating the clean energy transformation. Attendees will learn from studies and market experience about the impact storage has on environmental outcomes and how varying storage configurations and operations affect its role in decarbonization.
