Statement from ESA CEO Kelly Speakes-Backman on the BEST Act Amendment to the NDAA
Energy Storage Association CEO Kelly Speakes-Backman today issued the following statement on the Better Energy Storage Technology (BEST) Act being offered as amendment (S.Amdt 1837) to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA):
“We commend Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) and Sen. Martin Heinrich (D-NM) for continuing to prioritize the advancement of energy storage. Amending the NDAA with the BEST Act will accelerate the demonstration of new storage technologies that enhance electric grid operations and protect the grid against disruption. Now more than ever, our country needs to deploy all types of innovative energy storage systems, creating a more secure and resilient power system while creating jobs and new investment. ESA endorses this bipartisan amendment and asks members of the Senate to support its inclusion in the NDAA.”
