

Vice President Jason Burwen to Present Energy Storage Policy Workshop
The Clean Energy Legislative Academy is for state legislators working to make a difference on energy policy in their state. ESA’s Jason Burwen will be presenting the Energy Storage Policy Workshop.
At the Clean Energy Legislative Academy, legislators will:

Learn about energy policy related to trending issues across the nation as well as state specific strategies.

Identify clean energy policy gaps in their states

Discuss policy ideas with energy experts and experienced policy advisors

Develop state specific clean energy strategies and policies

Utilize various energy policy tools relevant to attendees and their stat
Day 2, Policy Workshop 1, Part I
Part one of each policy workshop will be designed to provide legislators an overview of the policy area they chose and will include discussion of current markets, emerging technologies, and barriers to consumer and/or utility adoption. Upon registration, legislators will sign up for three out of five policy workshops. During the Academy, legislators will be pre-assigned to separate Zoom rooms corresponding to their selected policy topics.

The energy storage workshop will focus on policies to promote greater market penetration of energy storage technologies and will provide an overview of the various value streams that should be considered when developing energy storage policies. The workshop will also include a discussion of costs and benefits to the energy system and market drivers for utility-scale and customer-sited energy storage.
