Jason Burwen, ESA’s vice president of policy, will speak at the 23rd Annual Transmission Summit East. His presentation is entitled, “Coordinating Transmission Planning and Operations with DER Deployment.”

Transmission Summit 2020 will bring together regulators, utilities, and transmission experts to explore new approaches to resiliency, technological investment and regional planning, and answer the key questions that will govern future transmission development:

• What does the rapid expansion of renewables, DERs and IoT mean for transmission planners?
• Will the FERC inquiry on transmission incentives create new investment opportunities for grid-enhancing technologies and storage?
• Are extreme weather events creating a new resiliency-based transmission planning paradigm, and how will policies change to support investments?
• What transmission investments will be needed to interconnect massive new offshore wind farms?
