Thermal energy storage technologies have proven cost-effective in real-world applications and can produce environmental benefits such as greenhouse gas reductions. These technologies convert surplus electrical energy into heat or cold, for later use either in thermal services or reconversion to electricity, and in some cases reducing overall energy use (increasing efficiency) as well. Despite these demonstrated advantages, thermal storage technologies have received less attention than other types of storage technologies in recent years.  In this webinar, experts from Viking Cold Solutions, SaltX Technology, and Trane will provide an overview of their energy storage systems and their applications; discuss the key advantages these technologies offer over other storage technologies; and share their experience in confronting and overcoming challenges to greater deployment of thermal storage systems.
